During the half-term break a group of 24 Year 11 students took to the slopes of Switzerland! The group spent a week in Torgon and had a fantastic time learning to ski and some of them were real pros by the end of the week!
Our thanks go to Ms Taylor, Mr Gaudin, Ms Field and Mr Shamsi for giving up their half term to supervise the students.

A group of students from the School Council went to the Town Hall in Romford to meet the Mayor (Councillor Georgina Galpin) and have a look round her office. They joined students from other Havering schools in the Council Chamber to discuss key issues which affect young people in Havering and then they were given a guided tour of the Mayor's Parlour and the refurbished rooms in the Town Hall.
As you can see from the pictures below they enjoyed the day. Sami, Shaun and Emma and Josh enjoyed the power of the Mayor's chair!

As you will be aware, The Sanders Draper School first opened in 1938 as the Suttons School - with separate schooling for boys and girls in the same building. The 70th year of our school will see the continuing transformation of the facilities we provide for teaching and learning. Plans are being produced for the rebuilding of the Technology department, Maths department, Reception and the Canteen.
These plans are subject to funding and will be part of the 3 year budget programme being produced by the Bursar/School Business Manager.
We have plans for a celebration and a reunion later in the year for all staff and students who have attended the school.

We are really pleased to announce the latest set of exam results for Year 11 students. In November 2007, all Year 11 students sat their English Langauge GCSE examination. 64% of the students achieved A* - C grades at the first attempt.
Congratulations to the students and their English teachers. Students were given the good news at the latest Year 11 Parents Evening on Thursday 17th January. The Hall was full of nervous students (and equally nervous parents and carers) at the start of the evening and whoops of delight half an hour later!
GCSE Science revision guides were on sale and these are still available in school to any Year 11 student.
The next key event for Year 11 students is the Parents Evening on Thursday 7th February from 4.30pm.
