Dear Parents and Carers,
Open Evening 2008
As you will no doubt be aware, the evening of Thursday, 18th September is our Open Evening for the parents of students currently in Year 6 of local Primary schools. This is an opportunity to see The Sanders Draper School at our best.
As usual, there will be some early closures at the beginning of term to assist in the organisation of Open Evening on Thursday 18th September. School will close after lesson 4 on Wednesday 17th September with a registration at 1.15 p.m. and after lesson 4 on Thursday 18th at 1.15 p.m. On Friday 19th September school will start for students with registration at 9.45 a.m. followed by lesson 2.
For parents new to the school, I should explain that the invitation to Open Evening, due to sheer volume of numbers, is made only to prospective parents with children transferring to secondary school in September 2009. Parents of current students (without children in Year 6) will have other opportunities to visit the school.
Only students involved in Open Evening should be on site on Thursday evening, and must be dressed in the correct school uniform (not summer uniform, please). Your child should have brought a letter home requesting your permission to act as guide or support in subject areas around the school. Students helping with Open Evening should report for duty at 6.00 p.m. We anticipate that the Open Evening will end at 9.00 p.m. You may collect your child from school at that time – they will be waiting for you in the Main Hall.
