Congratulations to Joshua Wilson! Year 7 Student

After emerging as the undisputed chess champion from The Sanders Draper School Joshua went on to qualify for a place in the Mega final of UK chess challenge at The Willows Primary School, Essex on Sat 10^th May 2008. This year, the UK Chess Challenge attracted 73,000 children from 2,170 schools. There were 39 Mega finals with approximately 8000 children taking part.

As a twelve year old boy Joshua was proving his perseverance and endurance during the six round mega final to qualify for the Gigafinal in Berkshire. Joshua’s success in the Mega Final shows that he is capable of more.

The most successful players in the Giga Finals will then go on to the Tera Final at The Source in Sheffield to win a top prize of £2000.
